Air pumps offer supplemental aeration to fish ponds and water gardens for healthier aquatic life. Ponds with heavy fish loads greatly benefit from increased aeration during the hot summer months when the warmer pond water doesn't retain oxygen as well as in the cooler months. Air pump are often needed in the winter months to maintain adequate oxygen levels in the fish pond if the main pond pump is shut down.
