Why Test?

Oxygen is vital for all organisms living in your pond or aquarium.  Fish, plants and microorganisms all require oxygen for respiration.  A low concentration in oxygen will lead the increased susceptibility to fish disease.  The bacteria that break down harmful substances also require a sufficient supply of oxygen.  The oxygen concentration in the water of your pond is dependent on a number of factors, particularly temperature.  Biological factors such as species and number of fish (oxygen consumers) and aquatic plants (oxygen producers during the day and oxygen consumers during the night) will influence the oxygen level.  The Tetratest O2 was professionally developed to accurately determine the oxygen level of your pond water.  To ensure optimum water quality, frequent testing is recommended.
